Prathad Doi Suthep Temple, is a Lanna style pagoda (on highway 1004).  Overlooking the city, it is 3,051 feet above sea level and 11 km. from the center of Chiang Mai.  It is a very symbolic temple of the Chiang Mai area.

 

Mae Sa Elephant Camp, is located at the 10 km. marker on the Mae Rim-Samerng road.  The camp provides elephant shows for the entertainment of the tourists.  It also shows how the young elephants are trained.

Jaydee Luang Temple, is situated on Prapoklao Road, and is one of the most significant points of interest in Chiang Mai.  It harbors one of the oldest and biggest pagodas called "Pra Jaydee Luang", and shows the treasured art work and architecture of a bygone era.

 

Inthanon National Park, is the highest mountain in Thailand, where you can enjoy cool weather all year round as well as some spectacular views.

 

The famous Three Kings Monument, is situated on Prapoklao Road which is the heart of the old coty of Chiang Mai.  The center statue is of Praya Meng Rai, on the right is Praya Ruang and the left is Praya Ng-am Muang.  These three revered kings are pioneers of Chiang Mai.

Sankampaeng Hot Springs, can be found 34 kms. from Chiang Mai.  With mineral baths, accommodation and camping facilities it is becoming 'the' place for relaxation in the Sankampaeng area.

Pao Mong Hilltribe Village (Maew) Doi Pui, is situated on Pui Mountain.  Being only 1 hour drive from Chiang Mai it is easily accessible.  An interesting souvenir shop can be found in the village.
